About Farai Madzivanyika

South Africa Representative

Farai is a part of the ZDNBI executive committee as the representative of the Zimbabwean Diaspora in South Africa. Farai Madziwanyika is an accountant by profession. He trained at Ernst and Young Harare and completed his Articles of Clerkship in 1999.

In 2000 Farai emigrated to the UK where he worked as a Commercial Business Analyst for a London Stock Exchange listed company, overseeing the regions of England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales before relocating back to Zimbabwe in 2004. In 2005 Farai emigrated again, this time to South Africa where he worked as a Finance Manager and subsequently as a Finance Director of a JSE listed corporate’s division.

Farai has held several other positions which included as CEO of a primary healthcare company based in South Africa and as a Financial Analyst heading the Angola and Mozambique teams for a consulting firm based in Atlanta, USA.

Farai is currently the CEO of Epique Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a financial and business advisory firm based in Sandton, Johannesburg. Epique Consulting provides solutions to the specialised healthcare sector which include capital raising to finance specialised radiology and oncology equipment such as X-ray, MRI, CT and Radiotherapy machines, day to day financial management and company secretarial and tax services amongst others.

Farai is also currently a co-ordinator and Government Liaison Officer for ZimThrive. ZimThrive is a global diaspora body that is focused on encouraging engagement not only amongst the diaspora but also with their country, Zimbabwe. ZimThrive is also working with the Diaspora Desk in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare and host a Diaspora Homecoming Initiative in December 2021.

 Farai is passionate about Zimbabwe and how the diaspora can be an effective tool for economic transformation and development of the country.

Farai has a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree with majors in Accounting, Auditing and Economics. Farai also passed with merit his MBA from Henley Business School at Reading University in the United Kingdom, graduating at the Henley on Thames campus in September 2019.

Farai is married to Rachael who also works in Johannesburg for a large global Swiss manufacturing firm as the Southern Africa CFO, Head of HR, IT and Commercial departments. They have 3 children, a daughter and two boys
